It first started on the fall/winter 2013 runway last year, when Saint Laurent marched their plaid-clad models down the runway. Since then, plaid shirts and checkered patterns have shown up everywhere. Taking inspiration from Hedi Slimane, we put together a feminine punk look complete with sky-high ankle booties and a checkered stadium jacket. We pair it with Vintage glasses in black in a retro-inspired style.
The Core Outfit
The amazing pieces we chose for this look leave us breathless. Let us go through the list. We have 1) a wool-blend tweed and faux leather biker jacket that looks oh-so-perfect-to-punk-up-everything from Junya Watanabe 2) Kenzo knit pullover with the logo in gold and 3) an All Saints mini skirt with a strategically placed diagonal zipper. You will continually see the comfy sweater and feminine skirt combination throughout the fall season – so be prepared to master it! This outfit is totally loaded with attitude and we love it!
The Accessories
The Vintage glasses we chose will add a retro vibe to your outfits. Wear these Vintage glasses with comfy sweaters and sweatshirts, also a big hit for the fall season, or with polished black on black outfits with tousled strands for added chic.
Sticking to the punk theme, we added a studded mini shoulder bag from McQ Alexander McQueen and a woven leather bracelet from Bottega Veneta. The biggest investment piece (which you will treasure for seasons to come) is the pair of Guiseppe Zanotti metal-detail leather ankle booties we selected to finish the look. Just imagine wearing that with a simple black t-shirt, black jeans, and biker jacket – you won’t need any other accessories to look chic.
The Makeup
We like red wine lips and simple eye makeup with this look. Volume beehive hair tied into a side pony contrasts the messy hair with the polished leather pieces in the outfit. You’ve got the whole look now – feminine punk chic!
