It’s been a month since the kings and queens of style descended upon the streets of Manhattan for SS17. And we’ve had enough time to deliberate and digest the trends that came out of the many runways and presentations.
It seems that the recent venue changes for New York Fashion Week were a big talking point too; gone are the days of fashion tents in Bryant Park as NYFW gets seriously edgy. New venues this year have included a converted railway terminal and a former post office. The arty take on set design has also inspired the many established and new generation designers to step up their game too.
Here we look at some amazing eyewear trends that we spotted on the New York Fashion Week runways…
Black and White Retro
Stripes to love! #Spring2017 #fashionweek #christiansiriano Hats by @gigiburris
Think daring monochrome, loud prints and patterns, oversized lenses and shiny plastic rims, and the tease of cateye. Retro is back, and so is nautical.
Big stripes are in according to Christian Sirano and we’ve got some great copycat sunglasses; the Moschino MO757S frames which look seriously bold for spring/summer.
Soft Lens Colours

Whilst flash lenses and mirrored sunglasses have been huge for 2016, it seems that the softer lens is making a comeback. Diffusing gradients and classic lens colours such as brown are hot for SS17 according to the Michelle Helene presentation and we really love this subtle look.
Steal this model’s style with these chic Chloe CE114S sunglasses which feature a similar oversized look.
Festival Rave

Marlene H at the FTL Moda show channelled a fusion of 90s rave, festival culture of the The New Millennial, as well as some retro shapes from the 60s and 70s. The finished article is something that is playfully pretty for SS17 and we can’t wait.
If you love fun festival fashion, check out these Moschino MO585 sunglasses which encapsulate the rainbow vibes from the Marlene H Couture.
