Menswear label Rochambeau presented its Spring/Summer 2017 collection at Skylight Clarkson Square, just weeks after being named a 2016 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist. The collection, inspired by the concept of Creatives in Exile and the influence of one’s environment on one’s personal style, exuded a modern approach to design, with key looks complemented by optical eyewear and sunglasses from newly launched unisex brand neubau eyewear.
neubau eyewear’s sleek, contemporary yet classic frames served as an ideal accessory for the Rochambeau aesthetic, underscoring the two companies’ shared values of modern, innovative design blended with creativity and craftsmanship. This season’s Rochambeau collection meditates on the role of a viewer’s eyes, “moving with life” and serving as a portal between inner and outer selves, between the interior life and the exterior environment. Rochambeau partners Laurence Chandler and Joshua Cooper chose to utilize neubau eyewear frames throughout the show to underscore this thematic motif, while also serving as an ideal aesthetic complement to the collection’s signature colors and shapes.
Austria-based neubau eyewear launched in June 2016 with 12 optical styles in six colors each; the first neubau eyewear sunglasses collection will follow later this year. The brand takes its name from the Neubau district of Vienna, a ground for innovative ideas and definitive trends in fashion, music and contemporary art of all genres.
