Berlin, July 2017. The success story continues: As part of his S/S 2018 show at Berlin Fashion Week, locally based fashion designer Hien Le once again sent his models down the runway wearing glasses by Austrian label neubau eyewear. In this new installment of a collaboration started back in January 2017, however, there were no prescription frames in sight as the limelight fell on a stunning choice of sunglasses.
Around 300 invited guests, among them actors Clemens Schick and Jannik Schümann as well as Berlin singer Balbina, came to see the show at Kaufhaus Jandorf and let themselves be inspired by all the special creations and styles. The sunglasses models scheduled for release this October, Eugen, Ruben, Carla and Fabio, seamlessly blended with the designer’s mens’ and womenswear looks, while also turning heads, if only to catch that one extra glance. All of these shades are made from innovative and plant based material “natural PX”, which makes them perfect companions to the light and summery outfits on show. “We are very happy to continue our collaboration with Hien Le after last January’s successful start”, said Daniel Liktor, global brand director at neubau eyewear. Both in terms of style and direction, our brands just go together amazingly well. We can easily imagine extending this cooperation well into the future.”
Hien Le’s S/S 2018 collection is a homage to dance in general and explores specific synergies between bodies and materials that compliment and support each other in seemingly fragile movements. Those classic silhouettes and pleats in fabrics such as light silks, cottons and linen are reminiscent of dance costumes. Nuances of greige, rosé, sky-blue and accents of saffron yellow mirror the subtlety of the body movements.
