This week we feature Laura Ashley Sydney Twine glasses with a romantic tartan look. We know punk rock led the way for the tartan trend on the runways, but if you want to wear this trend to work, we’ve got all the tips for you to pull it off. The first accessory you need would be our Laura Ashley glasses. Now, let’s get started.
The Core Outfit
We love how this season has been all about bringing practicality to style. By this we mean we get to look stylish AND stay warm at the same time. Think shirt and sweater laying, warm beanies, comfortable oversized coats – this is all a girl’s dream come true. So we chose an eye-print silk crepe shirt from KENZO as our inner layer, and work a 3.1 Phillip Lim merino wool (so warm!) and sable-blend sweater over top in a light beige color. Over top comes the DSQUARED2 belted coat, and we are so in love with its romantic color and wide collar – the details are reminiscent of ladylike dressing in the 50s. To finish we have a red/black A-line tartan skirt, which is so so so pretty with the knee-high boots!
The Accessories
I bet all of you are looking for the perfect pair of fall/winter boots! Look no further, we’ve found it, and it’s this pair of chocolate brown knee-high boots from Zara! We love it since it goes with all the pretty skirts that are a staple for the F/W season! If you are heading in to work, you will undoubtedly need a carryall tote, and this Madewell Transport Tote would go perfectly with the boots and the pretty hues used for this look.
For your hands, a simple gold knot bracelet from Banana Republic does the trick for added elegance. The most important touch would be our Laura Ashley glasses. The soft pink pearl tones and beautiful temple embossing are the perfect feminine touches to complete the look.
The Makeup
A salmon pink lip gloss from Bobbi Brown adds just the right amount of color to the face and nude eyeshadow tones with a hint of shimmer keeps the look work appropriate.
