Eyewear Book on Kickstarter
Ann Zawistoski, writer and the founder of Little Four Eyes, has a great book eyedea. Stemming from the fact her kid has to wear glasses and how hard it is to get kids to wear their eyewear with enjoyment and to feel good about themselves, she wants to develop/ write a book with really young kids wearing eyeglasses.
Because the market is limited, she will need to self publish her book and is looking to raise $6,000, which is why she is on Kickstarter. Here is what she says:
While bringing this book to reality is my main goal, I want to raise awareness of the importance of early detection and treatment of vision issues, and to help those facing early vision problems to know that they’re not alone. While babies and toddlers in glasses are not common, according some studies, 1 in 20 preschoolers should wear glasses.
I also hope that this project encourages others to explore writing children’s books, particularly for kids facing less common situations. I especially hope this will encourage even more books about vision issues for very young children.

The book sounds interesting and some studies have suggested that 1 out of 20 kids need to wear corrective eyewear. It that is the case, anything that helps kids see, look and feel better about wearing glasses is a good thing.
