This week we show you how to work complimentary colors and effectively “section off” your outfit to create the right amount of contrast. Our shadow grey Kam Dhillon glasses are the IT glasses for the color-loving girl in you; while it’s frame may be a semi-transparent grey, its temples are a colorful mix of brown, white, black, and pops of aqua.
THE CORE OUTFIT
We built this look around a fun MSGM printed satin skirt that features blue lip prints. We paired this with a navy crop top from Topshop and a contrasting orange cotton twill trench coat from J. Crew. Each piece has a similar boxy, tailored structure to create a consistent power chic vibe.
THE ACCESSORIES
All four accessories we picked for this look embody their own on trend element. Fringing is a key trend for spring, whether it’s on your bag or on your skirt or even on your jacket – this fringed Rebecca Minkoff bag is the perfect pick for spring.
Pale blue is a hit color for spring and a handful of fashionistas have been seen sporting these pastel blue pumps from Saint Laurent. We also love this vintage Hollywood peal choker that highlights the neckline for this look.
Our finishing touch is definitely this pair of Kam Dhillon glasses. They have a funky, multi-color finish with brown, black, white, and pops of transparent aqua.
THE MAKEUP
Since you’re already working quite a bit of color in the outfit – go for a pink lip-gloss and sharp eyebrows to keep makeup minimal. We like this light pink lip-gloss color from Bobbi Brown. For your eyes, simply shape your brows, draw in with a dark brown shade, and use a similar tone brow gel to set.
