In our constant search for the perfect eyewear for every occasion, we dug up some Dalmatian Eyewear designed by Alain Mikli to help celebrate National Fire Pup Day on October 1. Long before the days of fire trucks the loyal Dalmatians would guard the horses and wagons sent to fight fires, even keeping the pace while en route. Dalmatians sure are a special breed, and these shades hope to honor them as such.
Alan Mikli in celebration of the infamous 100 Dalmatian Movie created these limited edition and numbered Cruella Devilla Inspired Dalmatian Sunglasses.
These Alan Mikli frames are completely handmade in France and are deemed and extremely rare find. Items in this collection are reselling at a range of $1,500-2,500.
These asymmetric wrap around shades feature three dangly nails at the temple and bone shaped arms.
Move over Cat Eye frames and let these expansive oval sunnies steal the title of Best in Show. These chic black and white Dalmatian printed sunnies feature dark gray lenses and gold toned paw print at the temples.

The costume designer on the 1996 live action remake of Disney’s 101 Dalmatians made a major faux PAW by omitting these Gianni Versace shades into the wardrobe of Cruella de Vil (played by six time Academy Award Nominee Glenn Close). Now considered vintage, these oval sunglasses feature an extra thick frame for added drama, while a lighter lens allows for a smooth transition into low light situations.

These Oakley Frogskin wayfarer frames are a true collector’s item. Inspired by the original 1985 Frogskin frame, there were only a couple thousand of these limited edition frames produced, which isn’t much considering Oakley eyewear is a worldwide brand. The reinvented Frogskin frames came in several colors, but this Dalmatian print is the pick of the litter.

When it comes to Dalmatian print, it’s not just sunglasses that get to have all the fun. Designer eyeglasses such as this pair from Dolce & Gabbana are both functional and chic. The black plastic frame is animated by the spotted Dalmatian arms and the silver branding at the temple. Just like the breed that inspired the print, these frames come off playful, energetic and intelligent.
